Job Description and Responsibilities

  • Participating in the assessment and examination of patients with various neurological disorders, such as chronic headaches, epilepsy, stroke, multiple sclerosis, neuromuscular diseases, and dementia.
  • Assisting in diagnosing complex neurological cases utilizing state-of-the-art technology and providing initial interpretation of diagnostic results from MRI, CT scans, and EEG.
  • Developing preliminary treatment plans for patients in collaboration with the multidisciplinary medical team, which may include other neurologists, neurosurgeons, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and speech-language pathologists.
  • Managing follow-up for both in-patient and out-patient cases and accurately documenting progress in electronic medical records.
  • Participating in departmental seminars and case discussion meetings to present and review clinical cases.
  • Adhering to the highest standards of medical practice, ethics, and the policies and procedures of the government health facility.
  • Contributing to the institution's health awareness and preventive programs, as required.

Requirements and Qualifications

To qualify for this opportunity within the UAE's public health sector, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Educational Qualification: A Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery degree, plus a recognized specialization certificate (Board) in Neurology. Candidates with a fellowship or subspecialty certification in areas like epilepsy or stroke are preferred.
  • Licensing: The applicant must possess a valid license to practice medicine in the UAE (e.g., from the Ministry of Health and Prevention - MOH or the Dubai Health Authority - DHA) or be immediately eligible to obtain one. This is a fundamental requirement.
  • Experience: Approximately 3 to 5 years of post-specialization practical experience in the field of Neurology, with a proven record of effective clinical practice.
  • Skills: Strong diagnostic and analytical skills. Ability to work effectively within an integrated medical team. Excellent communication skills with patients and colleagues. Proficiency in English is essential, and knowledge of Arabic is a significant advantage.
