Job Description & Key Responsibilities

The Kitchen Equipment Specialist at Texas Chicken will be the primary point of responsibility for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of all equipment and appliances within the restaurant's kitchen. Your role will be critical in maintaining quality, safety, and operational efficiency standards. Key responsibilities include:

• Preventive Maintenance: Performing scheduled and routine inspections of all commercial kitchen equipment (e.g., fryers, ovens, refrigerators, freezers, induction cookers, ventilation hoods) to prevent breakdowns and malfunctions.
• Diagnosis & Repair: Quickly and accurately diagnosing the root causes of technical failures and executing immediate, effective repairs to minimize downtime and ensure operational continuity.
• Safety & Compliance: Ensuring all equipment complies with local Bahraini safety regulations and standards, with a strong emphasis on food safety and fire safety protocols.
• Inventory Management: Assisting in monitoring the inventory of essential spare parts and tools, placing orders as needed, and maintaining an organized system.
• Documentation: Maintaining accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed, including dates, issues addressed, and parts used.
• Support & Training: Providing basic technical support to the kitchen team and offering guidance on the proper use and care of equipment to staff members.
• Emergency Response: Responding to equipment-related emergencies outside of regular working hours when required to ensure minimal disruption.

Required Qualifications & Skills

To be a successful candidate for this role, you should meet the following criteria:

• Practical Experience: Proven hands-on experience of at least 2-3 years in maintaining and repairing commercial kitchen equipment, preferably within a fast-paced restaurant or food service environment.
• Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of basic mechanics, electricity, and refrigeration as applied to commercial equipment. Knowledge of common restaurant equipment brands is a plus.
• Practical Skills: Excellent diagnostic skills and the ability to work under pressure to troubleshoot and resolve issues swiftly and efficiently.
• Safety Awareness: A strong awareness of workplace safety protocols, especially concerning electrical and gas-powered equipment.
• Physical Fitness: The ability to stand for extended periods, bend, lift, and work in a sometimes warm kitchen environment.
• Personal Attributes: High reliability, integrity, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Legal Requirements: Applicants must possess a valid residency permit that allows them to work in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
