Job Description & Key Responsibilities
The successful designer will hold a pivotal role in transforming client visions into tangible reality. The core responsibilities will focus on both the creative and technical aspects of design:
- Client Consultation: Meeting with clients to understand their requirements, lifestyle, budget, and available space for designing kitchens or wardrobes.
- Design & Planning: Creating initial designs and detailed 3D layouts using specialized design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, or modular kitchen design programs.
- Developing Innovative Solutions: Designing smart and innovative storage solutions that meet practical needs while adhering to the latest interior design trends.
- Preparing Technical Proposals: Preparing comprehensive presentations for clients, including drawings, material options, color schemes, and cost estimates.
- Coordination with Production Team: Working closely with the manufacturing workshop and installation team to ensure the design is executed accurately according to specifications and required quality.
- Post-Sale Follow-up: Providing necessary support and consultation to the client post-installation to ensure complete satisfaction.
Required Qualifications & Skills
To be a successful candidate for this position, you should possess the following skills and attributes:
- Practical Experience: Proven previous experience of at least 2-3 years in kitchen design, wardrobe design, or custom furniture in general.
- Technical Skills: Excellent proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software and 3D modeling programs. Knowledge of software like 2020 Design or ProKitchen is a strong advantage.
- Creativity & Aesthetic Sense: A keen artistic eye for coordinating colors, materials, lighting, and dimensions to create beautiful and practical spaces.
- Material Knowledge: Good understanding of the properties of various industry materials such as wood (MDF, HDF, Plywood), veneer, laminate, acrylic, and solid materials, along with types of handles, hinges, and hardware.
- Communication & Sales Skills: Excellent ability to communicate with clients, understand their needs, and present designs and proposals persuasively.
- Accuracy & Attention to Detail: Ability to work with precise measurements and consider minute details in design and execution.
- Teamwork Ability: Collaborate effectively with colleagues in sales, production, and installation departments.
