Job Description and Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will hold a pivotal role within the support services department, directly overseeing the daily operations of the laundry facility. This position is crucial for ensuring the provision of flawless laundry and valet services that meet guest expectations and uphold the hotel's reputation. Core responsibilities include:

• Operational Supervision: Leading and directing the team of laundry attendants across all shifts, delegating tasks fairly and efficiently to ensure seamless workflow.
• Quality Control: Inspecting garments, linens, towels, beddings, and other hotel fabrics to ensure they are impeccably clean, stain-free, and pressed according to Hilton's stringent standards.
• Equipment Management: Overseeing the safe and correct operation of industrial washers, dryers, and pressing machines. Ensuring regular maintenance schedules are followed and reporting any malfunctions promptly.
• Inventory Monitoring: Managing stock levels of detergents, chemicals, and other supplies in a cost-effective manner, placing timely orders to prevent any disruption in service.
• Compliance & Standards: Ensuring the department adheres to all local and international health, safety, and hygiene (HACCP) policies, as well as occupational safety regulations.
• Training & Development: Training new team members on standard operating procedures and fostering a culture of hard work and precision among staff.
• Communication & Coordination: Working closely with other departments such as Housekeeping and Food & Beverage to receive requests and deliver clean items within the stipulated timeframes.

Required Qualifications and Skills

To be a successful candidate for this role within an international hotel environment, you should meet the following criteria:

• Proven Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of proven experience in a supervisory or lead role within the laundry department of a large hotel, hospital, or similar service institution.
• Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of commercial laundry operations, fabric types, stain removal techniques, and the appropriate use of cleaning chemicals.
• Leadership Skills: Ability to motivate a diverse team, manage time effectively under pressure, and solve practical problems swiftly and wisely.
• Attention to Detail: A keen eye for quality and precision, with an unwavering commitment to delivering a perfect finished product.
• Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods and handle heavy lifting occasionally in a warm and humid environment.
• Organizational Skills: Excellent ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple assignments simultaneously (Multitasking).
• Language Proficiency: Good command of spoken and written English. Knowledge of Arabic is a strong advantage.
