Job Description and Responsibilities

The appointed Lead Electrical Engineer will undertake a range of core duties and responsibilities, including:

• Technical and Administrative Leadership: Leading a team of electrical engineers and technicians, delegating tasks, and supervising workflow to ensure adherence to the highest standards of quality and safety.
• Project Planning and Design: Contributing to the initial planning and design phases of new electrical projects, and reviewing technical drawings and specifications.
• Supervision of Execution: Providing on-site supervision for the implementation of electrical projects, from main distribution systems down to subsidiary systems, ensuring compliance with approved specifications and Kuwaiti regulations.
• Quality Control and Inspection: Developing and implementing quality assurance plans, and conducting periodic inspection and testing of electrical equipment and installations.
• Budget and Schedule Management: Assisting in the preparation of project budget estimates, monitoring costs, and ensuring project completion within the designated timeframe.
• Stakeholder Coordination: Acting as the primary liaison between the company, contractors, suppliers, and relevant government authorities (such as the Ministry of Electricity & Water and the Public Authority for Industry) to facilitate approvals and obtain necessary permits.
• Problem Solving: Analyzing complex technical problems arising during design, implementation, or operational phases, and proposing effective engineering solutions.
• Training and Development: Overseeing the skill development of team members and providing necessary technical guidance to ensure continuous professional growth.

Qualifications and Requirements

To be eligible for this leadership role, you must meet the following criteria:

• Educational Qualification: A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university. A Master's degree or advanced professional certifications (e.g., PMP, CEng) is a strong advantage.
• Work Experience: Minimum of 8 to 10 years of practical experience in the electrical engineering field, with a focus on leadership or supervisory roles in recent years. Experience must include work on major infrastructure, industrial, or construction projects.
• Technical Knowledge:
  • Deep understanding of power systems, control systems, lighting, and electrical protection.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of international (e.g., IEC, IEEE) and locally applicable electrical codes and regulations in Kuwait.
  • Advanced proficiency in using relevant engineering design and analysis software (e.g., AutoCAD, ETAP, Dialux).
• Personal Skills and Leadership Abilities:
  • Excellent leadership and management skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team towards goal achievement.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills in both Arabic and English.
