Job Description and Key Responsibilities

The appointed Legal Supervisor will hold a strategic position and will be responsible for a wide range of leadership and advisory tasks, including but not limited to:

• Supervision and Leadership: Leading and managing the in-house legal team or coordinating with external law firms, delegating tasks, and ensuring the quality and efficiency of legal outputs.
• Legal Counsel and Advice: Providing proactive and strategic legal advice to senior management and all company departments on various issues and operations, including contracts, compliance, and legal risks.
• Drafting and Reviewing Contracts: Drafting, reviewing, and monitoring the execution of all contracts and agreements entered into by the company with clients, suppliers, and partners, to safeguard the company's interests and ensure legal alignment.
• Dispute Management: Overseeing any disputes, litigation, or arbitration involving the company, working in coordination with external counsel to achieve the best possible outcomes.

Qualifications and Core Requirements

To qualify for this leadership opportunity, you must meet the following criteria:

• Educational Background: A Bachelor's Degree in Law (LL.B.) from a recognized university. A Master's degree in a relevant legal specialty or an international professional certification (e.g., from a common law jurisdiction) will be a strong added advantage.
• Work Experience: A minimum of 7 to 10 years of practical experience in the legal field, with proven experience in a supervisory or leadership role within the legal department of a large corporation or a reputable law firm. Experience in the Qatari or GCC market is a significant advantage.
• Legal Knowledge: Deep and up-to-date knowledge of the systems and laws of the State of Qatar, particularly Company Law, Commercial Law, Labor Law, and Contract Law.
• Personal Skills: Excellent leadership and managerial skills with the ability to motivate a team. Exceptional verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills in both Arabic and English. High analytical skills and proactive problem-solving abilities. Integrity, high professionalism, and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Licensing: Preference will be given to candidates holding or being eligible to obtain a license to practice in Qatar.
