Licensed Aircraft Engineer - In-Flight Entertainment (IFE) Specialist
Skyfixer Aircraft Maintenance, a recognized provider of aircraft maintenance services in the State of Qatar, is recruiting for the position of Licensed Aircraft Engineer specializing in In-Flight Entertainment (IFE) systems. Job Description & Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be an integral part of the company's certified maintenance team, with primary responsibility for ensuring the operation and maintenance of all In-Flight Entertainment (IFE) systems to the highest safety and quality standards in the aviation industry. Expected duties and responsibilities include:
- Performing inspection, diagnosis, repair, and scheduled/unscheduled maintenance on IFE systems aboard various aircraft types handled by the company.
- Reading and interpreting complex electrical wiring diagrams and technical manuals for cabin audio/video and communication systems.
- Troubleshooting and repairing system components such as passenger display units, control panels, audio systems, media servers, gaming systems, and associated power supply units.
- Ensuring full compliance with all applicable aviation regulations set by the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority (QCAA) and international regulatory bodies like the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) and EASA (European Union Aviation Safety Agency).
- Certifying the work performed by issuing Certificate of Release to Service (CRS) or accurately documenting all maintenance and repair actions in aircraft records.
- Working closely with other maintenance teams (airframe, engine, avionics) to ensure IFE systems integrate seamlessly with other aircraft systems.
- Providing technical support and guidance to other technicians.
- Maintaining an inventory of IFE-related spare parts and tools.
Requirements & Qualifications
To qualify for this specialized technical role, you must meet the following criteria:
- Valid License: You must possess a current and valid Licensed Aircraft Engineer certification from a recognized civil aviation authority (e.g., QCAA, EASA, FAA, or equivalent) with an endorsement or rating covering In-Flight Entertainment (IFE) and related electrical/electronic systems.
- Practical Experience: Proven hands-on experience of at least 3 to 5 years in maintaining and repairing IFE systems on various commercial aircraft types (e.g., Airbus A320, A330, A350 family or Boeing 777, 787). Previous experience in an aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) environment is a significant advantage.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of electrical and electronic principles, networking systems, audio/video processing, and communication protocols used in aircraft.
- Personal Skills: Ability to work meticulously under pressure, strong analytical problem-solving skills, and the capacity to work effectively both as part of a team and independently. A strict adherence to safety protocols is non-negotiable.
- Language Requirements: Proficiency in written and spoken English, as it is the primary working language in aviation. Knowledge of Arabic is an additional advantage.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to work in a hangar environment, which may involve working at heights, on shift patterns, and sometimes in varying weather conditions.
Work Location & Environment
The primary place of work will be at Skyfixer Aircraft Maintenance facilities at Hamad International Airport or its associated maintenance locations in Doha, Qatar.
