Job Overview

The Lighting Expert will play a pivotal role within multidisciplinary design teams. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing integrated lighting solutions for a diverse portfolio of projects aligned with AtkinsRéalis's broad scope of work, including urban development, luxury commercial and residential buildings, infrastructure, and cultural/entertainment venues. Key Expected Responsibilities and Duties

• Develop creative and innovative lighting concepts and designs that meet project and client requirements.
• Prepare technical drawings, calculations, and detailed specifications for lighting systems.
• Coordinate and collaborate closely with architects, structural and MEP engineers, and interior designers.
• Conduct lighting performance studies and analyses using specialized software.
• Select appropriate luminaires and products based on technical and economic feasibility.
• Provide technical support during construction and implementation phases to ensure design intent is realized.
• Stay abreast of the latest trends, technologies, and regulations/standards in lighting systems and sustainability.
• Prepare reports and presentations for clients and stakeholders.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• A Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Electrical Engineering, Lighting Design, or a related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of proven professional experience in architectural lighting design, preferably within an international consultancy environment.
• Deep knowledge of lighting principles, photometrics, and the impact of light on spaces and human perception.
• Strong proficiency in relevant design software (e.g., Dialux, Relux, AutoCAD, Revit).
• Understanding of local Saudi and international building codes, and energy efficiency regulations.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken (Arabic language proficiency is a distinct advantage).
