Job Description and Key Responsibilities

The Market Access Manager for Rare Disease will be responsible for developing and executing market access strategies that ensure patients in the Saudi market can benefit from AstraZeneca's advanced and innovative therapies. This role serves as a critical bridge between the company and key stakeholders in the healthcare ecosystem.

Core responsibilities include:

• Developing comprehensive and integrated market access plans for rare disease products in the Saudi market, aligning with global and local business objectives.
• Analyzing the regulatory, legislative, and healthcare funding landscape in the Kingdom to identify opportunities and challenges.
• Building strategic relationships and fostering effective collaboration with key stakeholders, including the Ministry of Health, health insurance companies, specialized hospitals and centers, and medical associations.
• Preparing and submitting evidence-based value dossiers and pricing proposals that highlight the clinical, economic, and societal value of therapies.
• Supporting negotiation processes and the inclusion of medicines on government and private health insurance formularies and reimbursement lists.
• Monitoring and evaluating the performance of market access strategies and providing recommendations for continuous improvement.
• Working closely with cross-functional teams including Sales, Marketing, and Medical Affairs to ensure message and effort alignment.

Qualifications and Requirements

AstraZeneca is seeking candidates with a strong background and hands-on experience in market access or government affairs within the healthcare sector, preferably within the Saudi or Gulf market.

Essential Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, Medicine, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree (e.g., MBA, MPH) is a strong advantage.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Market Access, Pricing & Government Affairs, or similar strategic roles within a global pharmaceutical company.
• Proven hands-on experience with rare disease products, specialty medicines, or oncology therapies is a significant competitive advantage.
• In-depth knowledge of the Saudi healthcare system, drug registration and pricing processes, and healthcare funding and insurance mechanisms.
• An established professional network with key stakeholders in the Saudi healthcare sector.
• Excellent analytical and strategic skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable plans.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, with full proficiency in both English and Arabic (written and spoken).
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
