Job Description and Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging music education to middle and high school students, fostering artistic skills, creativity, and critical thinking. Core duties include:

  • Curriculum Planning & Delivery: Designing and implementing comprehensive, stimulating lesson plans for music classes, aligned with the school's adopted international curriculum standards (such as IB, British, or American curricula).
  • Musical Development: Instructing students in fundamental music theory, concepts, and techniques. Providing training on various musical instruments and developing vocal, performance, and active listening skills.
  • Event Coordination: Organizing, directing, and supervising school concerts, musical performances, competitions, and extracurricular music clubs.
  • Assessment & Feedback: Regularly evaluating student progress, providing detailed assessment reports, and offering constructive feedback to support their artistic and academic growth.
  • School Community Involvement: Collaborating closely with the arts department faculty and school administration. Actively participating in staff meetings, school events, and community initiatives.
  • Curriculum Development: Contributing to the review and enhancement of the music curriculum to ensure it reflects global best practices in education.

Job Requirements and Qualifications

To be eligible for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in Music, Music Education, or a closely related field. A Master's degree is a strong advantage.
  • Teaching Certification: A valid teaching license/certification from your home country or an internationally recognized accrediting body.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of proven experience teaching Music at the middle school and/or high school level. Experience within an international school setting is highly preferred.
  • Musical Proficiency: High competency in playing at least one primary instrument (e.g., piano, violin, guitar) with a good working knowledge of others.
  • Personal Skills: Excellent communication and motivational skills. Flexibility to work within a diverse cultural team and a genuine passion for music education and nurturing young talent.
  • Language: Full professional proficiency in English, as it is the primary language of instruction. Knowledge of Arabic is a beneficial asset.
