Al Naba Al Nabaa Services Company LLC is currently recruiting for the position of Payroll Officer at its headquarters in Muscat, Sultanate of Oman. Job Description & Key Responsibilities
The Payroll Officer will bear full responsibility for the monthly payroll cycle, ensuring absolute accuracy and full compliance with local Omani regulations. Core responsibilities include:
- Payroll Processing: Preparing, calculating, and disbursing monthly payroll for all employees in a timely manner.
- Data Management: Maintaining accurate and up-to-date employee records pertaining to payroll, including new hires, terminations, promotions, and benefits changes.
- Allowances & Deductions: Correctly calculating and inputting all allowances (e.g., bonuses, overtime, allowances) and deductions (e.g., salary advances, absences).
- Legal Compliance: Ensuring all payroll operations comply with the Omani Labor Law and Social Security regulations (Public Authority for Social Insurance), and preparing required reports for government authorities.
- Internal Coordination: Working closely with the Human Resources department regarding employment contracts, leaves, and status changes, and with the Finance/Accounting department for payroll journal entries and reconciliations.
- Issue Resolution: Responding to employee payroll inquiries and resolving any discrepancies or payment-related issues promptly and efficiently.
- Documentation: Issuing salary certificates and experience letters to employees as needed.
- Process Improvement: Contributing to the improvement and streamlining of payroll system procedures and processes.
Qualifications & Requirements
To qualify for this role, you must meet the following criteria:
- Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Work Experience: Minimum of 3 to 5 years of proven experience in a similar role (Payroll Officer or Payroll Accountant) within Oman. Experience in the services sector or with medium-to-large-sized companies is a distinct advantage.
- Technical Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of Omani Labor Law and Social Security regulations related to payroll. Strong understanding of accounting principles.
- Technical Skills: High proficiency in computer software, especially the Microsoft Office suite (Advanced Excel). Hands-on experience with HRIS/Payroll software systems (ERP) such as SAP, Oracle, or similar is a significant plus.
- Personal Skills: Meticulous attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy. Ability to handle confidential information with utmost discretion and high professional ethics. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
