Planner Engineer Job in Bahrain

A leading company within the engineering and construction sector in the Kingdom of Bahrain is seeking to hire a full-time Planner Engineer. This opportunity represents a pivotal role within the project management team, where the Planner Engineer plays a fundamental part in ensuring complex engineering projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Job Description and Responsibilities

The Planner Engineer will be responsible for developing, monitoring, and updating all aspects of project planning and scheduling. The key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Developing comprehensive project plans and detailed schedules using specialized software such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.
  • Working closely with project managers and various engineering teams to fully understand the scope of work and translate it into schedulable tasks.
  • Identifying the project's critical path and key activities that directly impact the completion date.
  • Monitoring project progress on a weekly/monthly basis, comparing actual achievement against approved baselines.
  • Preparing project performance reports and progress updates that clearly show schedule status, any variances, and recommended corrective actions.
  • Analyzing the impact of scope changes or delays on the overall project timeline.
  • Coordinating and integrating the plans and schedules of all subcontractors to ensure alignment and efficiency.
  • Providing technical support in project review meetings and presenting schedule updates to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Ensuring compliance with company standards and industry best practices in all planning and scheduling activities.

Qualifications and Key Requirements

To be eligible for this position, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Educational Qualification: A Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or a related field) from an accredited university.
  • Work Experience: A minimum of 5 to 8 years of hands-on experience in a project planning and scheduling role, preferably within heavy construction, oil & gas, or infrastructure sectors.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in project planning software, with a strong preference for practical experience in Oracle Primavera P6. Solid knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite (especially Excel).
  • Soft Skills: Exceptional analytical ability, strong attention to detail, and excellent communication and presentation skills (written and verbal). The ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
  • Knowledge: A deep understanding of project management principles (PMI), planning methodologies (CPM, PERT), and reporting procedures.
