Job Description and Responsibilities

The appointed Planning Engineer will be entrusted with a set of key responsibilities focused on ensuring projects proceed according to schedule and budget. Expected tasks include:

• Developing and implementing comprehensive, detailed baseline plans for ongoing and upcoming projects using specialized planning tools and software.
• Preparing project schedules, identifying key milestones, sequencing activities, and allocating required resources.
• Continuously monitoring project progress, comparing actual performance against approved plans, and identifying any potential deviations or delays.
• Preparing periodic (weekly/monthly) project status reports, analyzing data, and presenting key performance indicators (KPIs) to management and stakeholders.
• Identifying and analyzing risks that may impact schedule or cost, and proposing proactive mitigation and response plans.
• Close coordination and collaboration with project managers, engineers from various disciplines, execution teams, and other department heads to ensure information integration and accuracy.
• Participating in project reviews and follow-up meetings, providing necessary insights and analyses for decision-making.
• Continuously updating project plans to reflect any changes in scope, priorities, or resources.

Requirements and Qualifications

To be a successful candidate for this opportunity, you must meet the following criteria:

• Educational Qualification: A Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or any relevant engineering discipline) from an accredited university.
• Experience: Proven practical experience of at least 3 to 5 years in a similar role as a Planning Engineer or Planning Assistant, preferably within the contracting, oil & gas, energy, or major industrial projects sector.
• Technical Skills:
  • Advanced proficiency in project planning software, most notably Primavera P6, with strong knowledge of Microsoft Project.
  • Excellent skills in using the Microsoft Office suite (especially Excel for complex analysis and PowerPoint for presentations).
  • Deep understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., PMI) and best practices in planning and control.
• Personal Skills:
  • Strong analytical and deductive skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and teamwork skills within a multidisciplinary team.
  • High organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously (Multitasking).
  • Ability to prepare technical reports and present clearly and effectively.
• Other Requirements: Proficiency in written and spoken English (Arabic is an additional advantage). The applicant must hold a valid residency permit in the State of Kuwait (transferable residency).
