Job Description

The appointed Planning Engineer will be integrated into the project management department, with primary responsibility for developing and monitoring comprehensive schedules for the company's power project portfolio. Key Expected Responsibilities:

• Develop detailed project plans and schedules for power projects using specialized planning software such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.
• Continuously monitor project progress against baseline plans, identifying any potential deviations or delays.
• Prepare regular (weekly/monthly) progress status reports for the project manager and senior management.
• Analyze the impact of scope changes on the project schedule and cost.
• Coordinate with various departments (engineering, procurement, operations) to gather progress data and ensure information accuracy.
• Participate in schedule-related risk assessments and propose mitigation plans.
• Support the tendering process by preparing preliminary schedules for new projects.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Educational Qualification: A Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or any discipline relevant to power projects).
• Experience: A minimum of 5 years of practical experience in a planning or scheduling engineer role, with a strong focus on power projects (power generation plants, transmission & distribution networks, renewable energy projects).
• Technical Skills:
  • Advanced proficiency in project planning software, especially Oracle Primavera P6. Proficiency in MS Project is also essential.
  • Solid understanding of project management methodologies (PMI knowledge; a PMP certification is a strong advantage).
  • Good knowledge of power project development phases from design to delivery.
• Personal Skills:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
