Job Description & Key Responsibilities

The successful operator will be stationed in the Premix section of the feed mill, where precision and quality are paramount. The core responsibilities of this position include:

• Equipment Operation: Operating and monitoring premix blending machinery and equipment used in the manufacturing of animal and poultry feed, adhering to precise technical specifications.
• Quality Control: Ensuring the accurate proportioning and weighing of various ingredients (vitamins, minerals, amino acids, prophylactic medicines) according to approved formulas to guarantee a safe and effective final product.
• Basic Maintenance: Performing daily inspection and testing of equipment, reporting any malfunctions or irregularities to the direct supervisor, and assisting in routine cleaning and basic preventive maintenance tasks to ensure operational continuity.
• Safety Compliance: Strictly adhering to all applicable Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) procedures within the plant, including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and following safe handling protocols for chemicals and powders.
• Documentation: Recording daily production data such as quantities of materials used, batch numbers, operating times, and any abnormal observations in the designated log sheets.
• Teamwork: Collaborating effectively with other team members such as grinding operators, packing staff, and quality control personnel to ensure a smooth production flow.

Job Requirements & Qualifications

To qualify for this role, you should meet the following criteria:

• Educational Qualification: An industrial secondary diploma (specialization in mechanics, electricity, chemistry) or an equivalent technical qualification. Candidates with vocational training in industrial equipment operation or safety will be preferred.
• Work Experience: A minimum of 1-3 years of hands-on experience operating machinery in an industrial setting, preferably within feed mills, food production, pharmaceuticals, or chemical processing industries. Specific experience operating powder mixers is a significant advantage.
• Technical Skills: A basic understanding of mechanics and the ability to read technical charts and formulas. Foundational knowledge of quality and safety standards in industrial plants.
• Personal Skills: Accuracy and attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to work in shift patterns if required. Good communication skills for interacting with supervisors and colleagues.
