Job Description

The successful operator will be assigned to the operations and maintenance team at the company's or its clients' water treatment facilities. This role focuses on the direct supervision and daily operation of Produced Water Treatment units and plants. Produced water is a major byproduct extracted during oil and gas production and requires specialized treatment before disposal or reuse.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate and monitor produced water treatment systems and equipment (e.g., oil-water separators, filters, settling systems, chemical injection systems) in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Perform routine checks and monitor key quality parameters of the treated water (such as oil & grease content, suspended solids, pH levels) to ensure compliance with local environmental specifications and regulations.
• Accurately record meter readings, pressures, temperatures, and flow rates in daily operational logs.
• Assist in performing basic preventive maintenance and equipment inspections, and promptly report any malfunctions or anomalies to the direct supervisor.
• Strictly adhere to all Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies on site and participate in regular safety drills.
• Collaborate with engineers and other technicians to execute operational tasks efficiently and safely.
• Work may involve shift patterns, including weekends, based on the requirements of the facility's continuous operations.

Requirements and Qualifications

To be eligible for this technical role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

Education and Experience:

• A Diploma in a technical engineering field (e.g., Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Process Technology, or a related field) or a High School certificate with accredited training courses in industrial equipment operation.
• A minimum of 2 to 5 years of hands-on experience in operating water treatment plants, preferably with experience in Produced Water or industrial water treatment within the oil & gas sector or similar industries.
• Practical knowledge of common water treatment systems (e.g., DAF, media filters, settling systems).
• A solid understanding of Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) principles in industrial settings.

Required Skills:

• Ability to read and understand Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and basic technical drawings.
• Basic monitoring and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong commitment to accuracy in data recording and reporting.
• Ability to work effectively within a team and on rotating shifts.
• Physical fitness suitable for work in industrial sites.
• Proficiency in English for reading and writing is essential to understand procedures and instructions. Knowledge of Arabic will be an added advantage.
