Job Description and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be placed within the production department and will be directly responsible for overseeing cables manufacturing processes to ensure efficiency, quality, and safety. The core responsibilities expected for this role include:

• Supervising Production Operations: Daily management of cable production lines, ensuring processes run according to set standards and work schedules.
• Quality Assurance: Monitoring product quality at various manufacturing stages, ensuring compliance with technical specifications and international standards (such as ICEA, ANSI, etc.).
• Process Improvement: Identifying opportunities for enhancing operational efficiency, reducing waste, and increasing productivity on manufacturing lines.
• Maintenance and Safety: Coordinating with maintenance teams to ensure proper equipment operation and enforcing strict health and safety protocols in a manufacturing environment.
• Team Management: Leading and directing a team of technicians and production operators, training them on correct procedures and equipment use.
• Planning and Scheduling: Contributing to production planning and raw material requirements to meet operational targets.
• Troubleshooting: Diagnosing and resolving technical and operational problems that may arise during the manufacturing process promptly and effectively.

Qualifications and Requirements

To qualify for this position, you must meet the following criteria:

• Educational Qualification: A Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or equivalent). Candidates with a high technical diploma and extensive experience may be considered.
• Experience: Minimum of 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment, with a strong preference for direct experience in the cables or wires manufacturing industry. Experience in supervising production teams is required.
• Technical Skills:
  • In-depth knowledge of cable manufacturing stages (wire drawing, stranding, insulation, sheathing, armoring, packaging).
  • Strong understanding of material properties (copper, aluminum, insulating materials like PVC, XLPE).
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and product specifications.
• Personal Skills:
  • Leadership skills and the ability to motivate a team.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Ability to work under pressure and make decisions.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality standards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP software (an added advantage).
