Job Description and Key Responsibilities

The Project Engineer will be responsible for the complete oversight of HVAC aspects for substation projects. Key responsibilities include:

• Design and Engineering Oversight: Reviewing and approving HVAC drawings and specifications for electrical substations, ensuring compliance with top international standards (e.g., ASHRAE) and local Abu Dhabi/UAE regulations.
• Procurement and Tendering Management: Assisting in the preparation of tender documents, evaluating bids from HVAC system suppliers and contractors, and ensuring the best technical and commercial value.
• Execution and Installation Management: Providing field supervision for the installation of HVAC systems, including central plants, distribution systems, and controls, ensuring work is completed per schedule, specifications, and safety standards.
• Testing and Commissioning: Leading the performance testing and commissioning processes for HVAC systems, ensuring they can provide the required environmental conditions (temperature, humidity) to protect sensitive electrical equipment within the substations.
• Coordination and Stakeholder Management: Working closely with the main project manager, design engineers, subcontractors, and the client to ensure effective information flow and resolution of any technical conflicts.
• Quality and Safety Control: Ensuring all HVAC works adhere to comprehensive quality control protocols and strict site safety procedures.
• Reporting: Preparing regular technical reports on work progress, risks, and budget related to the HVAC package.

Qualifications and Essential Requirements

To qualify for this opportunity, you must meet the following criteria:

• Educational Qualification: A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field from an accredited university.
• Experience: Minimum 5 to 8 years of hands-on experience in managing, designing, and/or implementing HVAC system projects. Prior experience on electrical substation projects is highly preferred. Experience in other industrial/infrastructure projects like desalination plants or large factories is also valuable.
• Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of various HVAC systems, energy efficiency regulations, cooling load calculations, and equipment selection for industrial buildings.
• Project Standards Knowledge: Familiarity with project management phases (design, procurement, execution, commissioning) and quality/safety standards (ISO, OHSAS).
• Soft Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in both Arabic and English (written and spoken). Ability to work within a team and a multicultural environment, with strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Location: Candidates must be currently residing in the UAE or willing to relocate to Abu Dhabi.
