Job Description and Key Responsibilities

The appointed Pulmonologist will be responsible for a range of critical professional duties, including but not limited to:

• Diagnosing and treating a wide spectrum of respiratory and pulmonary diseases, including asthma, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), pulmonary fibrosis, pneumonia, and lung cancer.
• Performing and interpreting specialized diagnostic procedures such as pulmonary function tests, bronchoscopies, and sleep studies.
• Developing comprehensive treatment plans and conducting regular follow-ups to assess patient response to therapy.
• Collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary medical team comprising internists, radiologists, intensivists, and nurses to deliver integrated patient care.
• Providing necessary medical consultations to other hospital or clinic departments regarding complex respiratory cases.
• Adhering to the highest standards of medical practice, professional ethics, and institutional policies.
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date medical records for all patients.

Qualifications and Essential Requirements

To be eligible for this role, you must meet the following criteria:

• Medical Degree: Possession of a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree or its equivalent.
• Specialization Certificate: A recognized specialist board certification or equivalent in Pulmonology from an internationally accredited body.
• Licensing: A valid medical license from the country of qualification, with eligibility to obtain a license from the relevant Omani health authority (support will be provided for the process).
• Experience: A minimum of 3 to 5 years of post-specialization practical experience in the field of Pulmonology. Experience in reference hospitals or large medical centers is preferred.
• Personal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with patients and colleagues, the ability to work under pressure, and a strong commitment to teamwork.
• Language: Proficiency in spoken and written English. Knowledge of the Arabic language is a significant advantage.
