Job Description and Key Responsibilities

The Purchase Specialist will be placed within the Supply Chain or Procurement department, playing a central role in ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of purchasing operations. The core responsibilities expected for this position include:

  • Procurement Process Management: Executing the procurement of materials, components, and services required for operations, adhering strictly to technical specifications, defined budgets, and timelines.
  • Supplier Management: Sourcing and evaluating new suppliers, and managing relationships with existing vendors. This includes negotiating prices and terms, and monitoring supplier performance to ensure quality and reliability.
  • Administrative Processing: Preparing Purchase Orders (POs) and following up until final receipt. Ensuring accuracy of documentation and matching between invoices, purchase orders, and goods received.
  • Analysis and Reporting: Conducting market and material price analysis. Preparing periodic reports on procurement activity and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for management.
  • Internal Collaboration: Working closely with other departments such as Engineering, Projects, Operations, and Finance to understand their needs and ensure procurement activities meet them efficiently.
  • Compliance: Ensuring compliance with the company's internal purchasing policies and procedures, as well as relevant local regulations in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Qualifications and Core Requirements

To be successful in this role, candidates should meet the following criteria:

  • Educational Qualification: A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Business Administration (specialization in Supply Chain Management or Procurement), Industrial Engineering, or a similar discipline.
  • Work Experience: Proven practical experience of at least 3 to 5 years in procurement or supply chain, preferably in an industrial, engineering, or construction sector environment.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
    • Knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems like SAP or Oracle is a significant advantage.
    • Good understanding of supply chain principles and procurement procedures.
  • Personal Skills:
    • Excellent communication and negotiation skills in both Arabic and English.
    • Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    • Accuracy and attention to detail.
    • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
    • Effective interpersonal skills and a team-player attitude.
