QA/QC & ISO 17025 Coordinator - Sohar, Oman

The company is seeking an experienced professional to fill the position of QA/QC & ISO 17025 Coordinator. Job Description & Key Responsibilities
The appointed coordinator will be based within the Quality department and will be the primary officer responsible for ensuring compliance with stringent quality systems, with a particular focus on the ISO/IEC 17025 standard for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories. Core responsibilities will include:
- Leading and Managing the Quality System: Overseeing the implementation, maintenance, and continual improvement of the company's existing Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring its full compliance with ISO 17025 requirements and all other relevant regulatory standards.
- Internal Auditing and Review: Planning and conducting periodic internal audits of laboratory activities and other relevant departments. Preparing audit reports and following up on the implementation of Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) to address any non-conformities.
- Operational Quality Control (QA/QC): Developing and implementing quality control procedures for processes and production. Reviewing and analyzing test data to ensure the consistency and accuracy of results. Investigating non-conformities or customer complaints related to quality.
- Documentation Management and Training: Maintaining and updating all QMS documentation (manual, procedures, work instructions, records). Designing and delivering training programs for staff on quality principles, ISO 17025 requirements, and established procedures.
- External Audit Preparedness: Acting as the company's primary point of contact with accreditation bodies and regulatory agencies. Preparing and coordinating pre-audit activities to ensure successful external assessments and surveillance visits.
- Continuous Improvement: Proposing and implementing initiatives for the continual improvement of process efficiency and output quality, aligning with the company's strategic objectives.
Qualifications & Requirements
To be eligible for this opportunity, you must meet the following criteria:
- Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial) or Science (Chemistry, Physics) or any field closely related to laboratory quality and testing.
- Work Experience: A minimum of 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in quality management, with proven and direct experience in implementing and maintaining an ISO/IEC 17025 system in a laboratory or industrial setting.
- Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of the ISO/IEC 17025:2017 standard requirements, QA/QC principles, and internal audit procedures. Knowledge of other QMS (e.g., ISO 9001) will be a distinct advantage.
- Personal Skills: Strong analytical and investigative skills. Excellent report writing and communication abilities. Meticulous attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Leadership and organizational skills.
- Certifications: Holding a certification as an internal auditor for quality standards (e.g., ISO 17025 Lead Auditor, ISO 9001) will be a significant plus.
