Job Description and Key Responsibilities

The appointed QHSE Executive will be responsible for a number of core tasks, including:

  • Developing and Implementing QHSE Management Systems: Establishing policies, procedures, and ensuring compliance across all company departments.
  • Conducting Periodic Audits and Inspections: Reviewing operational processes and sites to ensure they align with local and international standards, as well as internal company regulations.
  • Risk Management: Identifying and assessing potential workplace risks (safety, environmental, quality-related) and developing plans to mitigate or eliminate them.
  • Training and Awareness: Designing and delivering training programs for company staff on QHSE principles and systems to foster a culture of safety and quality.
  • Incident Analysis: Investigating incidents or non-conformances and preparing detailed reports with recommendations for corrective and preventive actions.
  • Quality Control: Monitoring the quality of products and processes to ensure they meet company specifications and customer expectations.
  • Liaison with Regulatory Bodies: Representing the company in communications with relevant government authorities regarding safety, health, and environmental licenses and requirements.
  • Reporting: Preparing regular performance reports on the status of the QHSE system and presenting them to senior management.

Qualifications and Key Requirements

To be eligible for this position, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Educational Qualification: A Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial, or equivalent) or in a Science field related to Safety and Environment.
  • Professional Certifications: Possession of recognized professional certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or Lead Auditor certification in ISO 9001 / ISO 14001 / ISO 45001 is highly preferred.
  • Experience: A minimum of 3 to 5 years of practical experience in QHSE management systems, preferably within the manufacturing sector or similar industries.
  • Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of local Occupational Health, Safety, and Environmental laws and regulations in the State of Kuwait.
  • Personal Skills:
    • Strong analytical and investigative skills.
    • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
    • Leadership skills and the ability to work within a team.
    • Accuracy and attention to detail.
    • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office software.
  • Language: Fluency in English, both written and spoken. Knowledge of Arabic will be a distinct advantage.
