Job Description

The Quantity Surveyor is a cornerstone of any construction or engineering project, playing a pivotal role in cost and financial resource management. Key Responsibilities and Duties:

• Prepare, analyze, and verify initial quantity take-offs and cost estimates for projects.
• Prepare and submit price quotations and tender documents in collaboration with the engineering team.
• Monitor and evaluate costs throughout all project phases, from design to handover.
• Measure work completed on-site and prepare payment applications for contractors and suppliers.
• Manage variations in project scope, assess their financial impact, and prepare Variation Orders.
• Verify invoices and financial statements, ensuring their accuracy and compliance with contracts.
• Contribute to the preparation of periodic financial reports for the project.
• Ensure compliance with the terms and conditions of signed contracts.
• Work closely with project managers, engineers, and contractors.

Requirements and Qualifications

Essential Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.

• Deep knowledge of quantity and cost surveying principles and procedures.
• Strong proficiency in relevant computer software, especially CAD and quantity surveying software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, CostX) and the Microsoft Office suite.
• Good knowledge of common construction contract systems (e.g., FIDIC).
• Excellent analytical and monitoring skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Arabic and English.

Preferred Qualifications (if available):

• Membership in a recognized professional body such as RICS or its equivalent.
• Previous experience working on projects in Oman or other GCC countries.
• Knowledge of the local Omani market for materials and labor.
