Quantity Surveyor - Pipeline Projects
Dynamic and Excellence Arabia Company is actively seeking to hire an experienced Quantity Surveyor with specialization in pipeline projects to join their dynamic team in Al Ahsa, Saudi Arabia. Job Description and Key Responsibilities
The appointed Quantity Surveyor will be integrated into the projects department and will be primarily responsible for the financial and commercial management aspects of pipeline projects. The core duties include:
- Cost Estimation and Preparation: Preparing detailed cost estimates for pipeline projects during tender and planning stages, including Material Take-Off (MTO), labor, equipment, and overhead costs.
- Contract Management: Reviewing and understanding the terms and conditions of project contracts (e.g., FIDIC), and assisting in the preparation and evaluation of tender documents.
- Measurement and Valuation: Taking off and quantifying pipeline works from construction drawings to prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQ).
- Financial Monitoring: Monitoring actual costs against the allocated budget throughout the project lifecycle and preparing cost variance reports.
- Payment Applications: Preparing and submitting interim payment applications to clients or consultants based on the work completed.
- Change Management: Evaluating, estimating, and negotiating the costs associated with Variation Orders (VOs) and additional/omission works.
- Site Measurement: Conducting site visits to measure and verify work done on-site to ensure the accuracy of financial claims.
- Internal Coordination: Working closely with project managers, site engineers, procurement, and planning teams to ensure financial accuracy and operational efficiency.
- Final Account: Assisting in the preparation of final account settlements upon project completion.
Qualifications and Requirements
To qualify for this role, you must meet the following criteria:
- Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Surveying Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
- Experience: A minimum of 5 years of proven experience in a Quantity Surveyor role, with a strong focus on pipeline projects, major infrastructure, or oil and gas projects.
- Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of pipeline project design and execution phases, and relevant material specifications (e.g., API specifications).
- Software Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel), and specialized quantity surveying software such as AutoCAD or similar.
- Contractual Knowledge: Solid knowledge of standard contract forms used in engineering projects (e.g., FIDIC).
- Personal Skills: Excellent communication and negotiation skills, high accuracy and attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Language: Proficiency in written and spoken English. Knowledge of Arabic will be a distinct advantage.

The position is based in Al Ahsa, a major city in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia, renowned as a vital hub for the oil and gas industry and numerous large-scale industrial and infrastructure projects.
