Job Description and Responsibilities

The Regulatory Affairs Manager will hold a pivotal position within the company's organizational structure, serving as the primary authority for tracking, monitoring, and implementing all local and international regulatory requirements affecting the airline's operations. He/She will work closely with various departments to ensure all company activities align with applicable laws and regulations.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Monitoring and interpreting changes in local and international aviation legislation and regulations (e.g., Qatar Civil Aviation Authority laws, ICAO, EASA, etc.) and assessing their impact on company operations.
• Developing and implementing effective strategies and policies to ensure regulatory compliance across all company divisions.
• Acting as the principal liaison between Qatar Airways and local (e.g., Civil Aviation Authority) and international regulatory bodies.
• Preparing and submitting required reports and documentation to regulatory authorities in a timely manner.
• Providing advice and guidance to senior management and the executive team on regulatory issues and obligations.
• Leading and training the Regulatory Affairs team to ensure the highest levels of efficiency and knowledge.
• Managing the company's and its personnel's required licensing and certification processes.
• Conducting periodic regulatory risk assessments and developing mitigation plans.

Qualifications and Requirements

Qatar Airways is looking for candidates with a proven track record in a similar field, coupled with a deep understanding of the complex aviation regulatory environment.

Essential Requirements:

• A Bachelor's degree in Law, Business Administration, Aviation, or a related field. A Master's degree will be a strong advantage.
• Minimum 7 to 10 years of practical experience in regulatory affairs, compliance, or legal affairs, with a preference for experience in the aviation, airline, or heavily regulated industries.
• Comprehensive knowledge of international (ICAO) and regional civil aviation systems and regulations.
• Proven experience in liaising with governmental regulatory bodies.
• Exceptional analytical and research skills with the ability to interpret complex legal and regulatory texts.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Arabic and English.
• Leadership skills and the ability to manage teams and work under pressure to meet challenges and deadlines.
• A proactive leadership personality with the ability to influence and build relationships.
