Job Description
The Reservations Agent will serve as the first vocal point of contact for the hotel, responsible for creating a lasting positive impression on potential guests. The key duties and responsibilities for this role include:
- Answering guest calls and responding to inquiries regarding rates, availability, services, and special offers.
- Accurately entering, modifying, and cancelling room reservations in the central reservations system (e.g., Oracle Opera Cloud or similar).
- Advising guests on suitable room types, hotel details, and available facilities.
- Handling prepayments, issuing reservation confirmations, and sending them to guests.
- Working closely with the Sales, Front Office, and Revenue Management departments to ensure maximum occupancy and optimal financial yield.
- Handling special requests and important guest notes (e.g., celebrations or health requirements) and recording them accurately.
- Achieving individual and team sales targets related to room sales and promotional packages.
- Adhering to the high customer service standards set by the Hilton Worldwide group.
Requirements and Qualifications
To be a successful candidate for this role in a competitive environment like Hilton, you should meet the following criteria:
- Educational Qualifications: A diploma or bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Tourism, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience of 1-2 years in a similar role (Reservations Agent, Customer Service Representative) within the hotel, tourism, or call center industry. Exceptional fresh graduates with relevant skills and eagerness to learn may be considered.
- Technical Skills: Excellent computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in Property Management Systems (PMS), especially cloud-based systems.
- Personal Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Arabic and English.
- A clear, pleasant, and professional phone voice with effective call management abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure, especially during peak times, while maintaining calm and professionalism.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
- Powerful sales and persuasion skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team and collaborate with other departments.
- Knowledge: A basic understanding of hotel operations and its various departments.
