Job Overview
The Risk Manager will occupy a pivotal position within the company's organizational structure, serving as the primary officer responsible for designing, implementing, and managing a comprehensive risk management framework. This framework aims to protect the company's assets and reputation, ensure compliance with local and international regulations, and support strategic decision-making by identifying, assessing, and treating potential risks facing the business.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Develop and update the company's risk management policy and strategy in line with global best practices (e.g., COSO, ISO 31000) and regulatory requirements in Qatar.
- Lead the process of identifying operational, financial, strategic, and reputational risks across all company departments.
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative risk assessments for identified risks, including impact and likelihood analysis, and establish a clear risk map.
- Design and propose effective risk mitigation controls and develop business continuity and emergency plans.
- Prepare detailed, clear, and periodic reports for the Board of Directors and senior management, presenting the risk status, recommendations, and actions taken.
- Continuously monitor the operational and regulatory environment to detect emerging or changing risks.
- Ensure employee awareness and training on risk management culture and their roles within the framework.
- Act as the liaison with internal and external auditors and regulatory bodies concerning risk and compliance matters.
Essential Qualifications and Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Finance, Business, Management, or Engineering. A Master’s degree (e.g., MBA) or a relevant professional certification will be a significant advantage.
- A recognized professional certification in risk management (e.g., CRM, FRM, PRM) is highly preferred.
- A minimum of 7 to 10 years of practical experience in risk management, with a substantial portion in a leadership or supervisory role.
- In-depth knowledge of international risk management standards and frameworks and relevant regulatory requirements in the Qatari and Gulf market.
- Exceptional analytical and investigative skills with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable insights.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Arabic and English, with the ability to present complex reports smoothly and clearly.
- Proven ability to lead, work under pressure, and make sound decisions under conditions of uncertainty.
