Job Description and Key Responsibilities

The appointed Safety Supervisor will be stationed at an active project site, serving as the primary officer responsible for implementing and monitoring all safety protocols. The core duties of this role include:

• Field Supervision: Conducting daily oversight of the worksite to ensure full compliance with local safety regulations (such as Saudi Arabia's "SABIC" or industry standards), international best practices, and the company's internal policies.
• Program Development & Implementation: Assisting in the development and implementation of project-specific safety plans and procedures, including emergency response plans.
• Training & Awareness: Organizing and delivering regular safety awareness and training sessions for workers and subcontractors on safe work practices, proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and hazard recognition.
• Inspections & Audits: Conducting routine and comprehensive inspections of the worksite, equipment, and machinery to identify potential hazards or non-compliance issues. Documenting findings and preparing detailed reports.
• Incident Investigation: Leading or participating in investigations of accidents or near-miss incidents to determine root causes and develop corrective action recommendations to prevent recurrence.
• Risk Review: Participating in Risk Assessments for new or modified activities prior to the commencement of work.
• Communication & Reporting: Preparing periodic reports on site safety performance for HSE management and project managers. Acting as the liaison between management and workforce on all safety matters.
• Equipment Management: Ensuring appropriate safety equipment (fire extinguishers, warning signs, first-aid supplies) is available and properly maintained.

Job Requirements and Qualifications

To qualify for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Industrial) or in the Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) field. A relevant diploma with extensive experience may also be considered.
• Professional Certifications: A recognized professional safety certification such as the NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC) or its equivalent is a significant advantage. In-depth knowledge of Saudi Arabian safety regulations is mandatory.
• Work Experience: A minimum of 5 to 7 years of practical experience in a Safety Supervisor role, with a strong focus on the contracting, construction, or oil & gas sectors. Proven experience working on major projects within Saudi Arabia is highly desirable.
• Personal Skills:
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to enforce safety standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (verbal and written) in both Arabic and English.
  • Ability to prepare accurate technical reports.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Other Requirements: Applicants must possess a valid transferable Iqama (residency permit) for Saudi Arabia and must be medically fit to work on construction sites.
