Sales Manager – FMCG Distribution

Job Description & Key Responsibilities
The appointed Sales Manager will hold a central position, responsible for steering the sales function with a focus on strategic growth and operational excellence. Key duties include:
- Team Leadership & Development: Lead, coach, and motivate the field sales team to achieve ambitious sales and distribution targets. Foster a high-performance culture through continuous training, mentorship, and performance management.
- Strategic Planning: Develop and execute comprehensive sales plans and strategies for the FMCG portfolio within the Dammam region and surrounding areas, ensuring alignment with the company's overall business objectives.
- Key Account & Channel Management: Build and nurture strong, long-term relationships with key customers, distributors, and traders across modern and traditional trade channels (e.g., hypermarkets, cooperatives, wholesale). Understand their needs and develop tailored solutions to drive mutual growth.
- Market & Performance Analysis: Continuously monitor and analyze market performance, competitor activities, and consumer trends. Prepare detailed periodic reports on sales achievements, market share, challenges, and actionable insights for senior management.
- Target Achievement: Bear direct responsibility for achieving agreed-upon sales targets (volume and value) within the designated territory and allocated budget.
- Distribution & Logistics Coordination: Work closely with operations and logistics departments to ensure efficient product flow from warehouse to point-of-sale, minimizing stock-outs and optimizing delivery schedules.
- Policy & Compliance: Ensure the sales team's full adherence to company policies, sales standards, and financial procedures related to discounts, promotions, and credit terms.
Qualifications & Requirements
To be considered for this leadership opportunity, candidates must possess the following profile:
- Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field. An MBA or professional certifications in sales or channel management will be a distinct advantage.
- Work Experience: A minimum of 7 to 10 years of proven experience in sales and distribution, with a strong focus on the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) industry. This must include at least 3 to 5 years in a leadership role (Sales Manager or Area Manager).
- Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead, inspire, and manage field sales teams to deliver exceptional results. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills are essential.
- Market Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of the Dammam/Eastern Province market in Saudi Arabia. An existing professional network with distributors and traders in the FMCG sector is a significant plus.
- Analytical Abilities: Strong analytical skills to interpret sales data, financial reports, and market intelligence to make informed strategic decisions.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in MS Office Suite, CRM software, and ERP systems commonly used in sales and distribution management.
- Language: Fluency in Arabic (spoken and written) is mandatory. Proficiency in English is highly important for reporting and potential corporate communications.
