Job Overview

The Sales Strategy and Operations Lead occupies a critical strategic role at the intersection of sales operations, strategic planning, and performance management. The successful lead will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic frameworks that support the ambitious growth objectives of the AWS sales team in Saudi Arabia. This is not a traditional execution role; it is a role designed to translate vision into actionable plans, measure performance, and ensure the sales teams have the tools, processes, and insights needed to excel.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Strategic Planning: Work closely with regional and local sales leadership to develop comprehensive sales strategies aligned with AWS's overall business objectives in Saudi Arabia.
  • Business & Performance Analysis: Lead in-depth analysis of sales performance, identifying trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement. Prepare executive-level reports and dashboards that provide actionable insights.
  • Operational Excellence: Review and optimize existing sales processes and practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. This may include improvements in pipeline management, revenue forecasting, and sales cycle streamlining.
  • Decision Support: Act as a strategic advisor to leadership, providing data-driven recommendations to support decisions on resource allocation, market targeting, and local product/service development.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate with various internal teams at AWS such as Finance, Marketing, and Product teams to ensure strategic alignment and seamless execution of revenue goals.
  • Project Management: Lead or oversee key sales-focused strategic initiatives and projects from conception through implementation.

Required Qualifications and Skills

AWS is looking for a professional with deep experience and exceptional leadership traits:

  • Experience: Proven track record of 7-10 years in business strategy, sales operations, or management consulting roles, preferably within the technology or cloud services sector.
  • Strategic Acumen: Strong understanding of cloud business models, Saudi and Gulf market dynamics, and complex sales management principles.
  • Advanced Analytical Skills: Exceptional proficiency in data analysis using tools like Excel, Tableau, and SQL. Ability to translate complex data into clear insights and strategies.
  • Leadership Mindset: Ability to influence and inspire without direct managerial authority, working effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Analytical Thinking & Problem-Solving: Superior skill in diagnosing operational challenges and designing innovative, practical solutions.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Professional fluency in English (required) and Arabic (highly preferred). Ability to present complex information clearly and compellingly.
