Job Description and Key Responsibilities

The appointed Science Teacher will be tasked with nurturing scientific curiosity and knowledge in students. The core responsibilities will include:

• Planning and Development: Preparing and implementing comprehensive and engaging lesson plans in Science subjects (which may include Physics, Chemistry, Biology, or General Science) that align with the approved curriculum and school standards.
• Teaching and Assessment: Delivering lessons using a variety of teaching strategies to cater to different learning styles. Regularly assessing student progress through assignments, tests, practical projects, and formative and summative evaluations.
• Hands-on Learning: Designing and conducting safe and thought-provoking scientific experiments in the laboratory to enhance the practical understanding of theoretical concepts.
• Classroom Management: Creating a respectful, organized, and safe classroom environment that encourages effective participation and collaboration among students.
• Professional Development: Participating in training workshops and academic meetings to stay abreast of the latest developments in science teaching methodologies.
• Communication: Maintaining open and effective communication with parents/guardians to provide reports on academic and behavioral progress.

Qualifications and Requirements

To be a successful candidate for this role, you must meet the following criteria:

• Academic Qualification: A Bachelor's degree in Education (Science specialization) OR a Bachelor's degree in a Science discipline (Chemistry, Physics, Biology) coupled with a teaching qualification (PGCE, teaching certificate, or equivalent).
• Experience: Proven practical experience teaching Science at primary or secondary school levels. Experience in international schools or those following a British or American curriculum is preferred.
• Personal Skills:
  • A strong passion for the subject of Science and the ability to inspire this passion in students.
  • Excellent English communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Ability to work as part of a team and collaborate with colleagues and administration.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work in a fast-paced environment.
