Job Description and Key Responsibilities

The Security Manager will hold a pivotal position within the hotel's management structure, serving as the primary authority on all security and safety matters. The core focus will be leading and developing the property's comprehensive security strategy, aligning with Hilton's stringent global standards and local Kuwaiti regulations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and managing the hotel's security team, including the training, development, and ongoing performance evaluation of security officers and personnel.
  • Developing, implementing, and regularly updating security, safety, and emergency policies and procedures, ensuring understanding and compliance across all hotel departments.
  • Managing the hotel's technical security systems, such as Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) networks, access control systems, and alarm systems.
  • Coordinating and maintaining close collaboration with local government security authorities in Kuwait, such as the Ministry of Interior and Civil Defense, to ensure full regulatory compliance.
  • Conducting regular risk assessments for security and safety hazards throughout the property and developing mitigation plans.
  • Leading the response to any security incidents or emergencies, and preparing detailed reports with root cause analysis.
  • Overseeing safety and security training programs for hotel staff across all departments.
  • Monitoring and analyzing security data to identify trends and prevent future incidents.
  • Ensuring the security of special events and functions hosted in the hotel's banquet halls.
  • Efficiently managing the security department's budget and allocated resources.

Qualifications and Essential Requirements

To be successful in this leadership role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Education: A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Security Management, Business Administration, or Criminal Justice. Significant and distinguished practical experience may be considered in lieu of a formal degree.
  • Experience: A minimum of 5 to 7 years of practical experience in security management, with a strong preference for experience within the hotel or tourism and hospitality sector. Experience in the Gulf market or specifically in Kuwait is a significant advantage.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead, motivate, and manage an integrated team, making decisive judgments under pressure.
  • Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of electronic security systems and modern technologies used in securing large facilities.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills (both verbal and written) in English and Arabic. The ability to interact professionally and tactfully with guests and colleagues from diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Legal Knowledge: A solid understanding of the safety and security regulations and laws in force in the State of Kuwait.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze complex situations and develop effective solutions.
