Job Overview
The Senior Contracts Management Engineer will be responsible for providing specialized expertise in all facets of contract management for major construction and development projects across the Kingdom. Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Oversee the preparation, drafting, and review of contracts and agreements for engineering and construction projects, ensuring compliance with local and international laws and company policies.
- Provide proactive advice and guidance to management and project teams on all contractual matters to prevent disputes and claims.
- Manage and execute contract tendering processes, including bid evaluation and negotiation of terms with contractors and suppliers.
- Monitor and evaluate contract performance throughout the project lifecycle, identifying potential risks and deviations and proposing corrective solutions.
- Investigate contractual claims and prepare supporting reports and analyses.
- Act as a central liaison between internal stakeholders (engineering, procurement, finance) and external parties (clients, contractors, consultants) on all contractual issues.
- Ensure accurate and organized filing and documentation of all contract records.
Essential Qualifications & Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical) or a related field. A Master’s degree in Business Administration, Law, or Contract Management is a strong advantage.
- A minimum of 8 to 12 years of practical experience in contracts management, with a strong focus on the construction or major engineering projects sector in the Middle East. Experience in the Saudi market is a significant plus.
- In-depth knowledge of common international contract forms (e.g., FIDIC) and Saudi Arabian contractual laws and regulations.
- Exceptional analytical and proactive skills with the ability to interpret complex contract clauses and provide clear recommendations.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) in both Arabic and English, with the ability to draft professional reports and correspondence.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Leadership qualities with the ability to mentor and guide team members.
