Job Description

The Senior Data Specialist will play a pivotal role in driving new product and service development initiatives through advanced data analytics. The incumbent will work closely with product, design, and engineering teams to identify opportunities, measure performance, and deliver actionable, data-driven recommendations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze complex datasets related to customer behavior, product performance, and operational metrics to derive strategic insights.
• Develop and deploy predictive models and machine learning techniques to support product development decisions.
• Design and build interactive dashboards and reports to monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for product initiatives.
• Collaborate with data engineers to ensure data quality, availability, and suitability for analysis.
• Present clear findings and reports to technical, non-technical teams, and senior management, explaining complex results.
• Contribute to fostering a data-driven decision-making culture across the product development division.
• Stay abreast of the latest trends and technologies in data analytics and apply them within the aviation context.

Qualifications and Requirements

Essential Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
• Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in an advanced analytical role (e.g., Senior Data Analyst, Data Scientist, Data Engineer) with a focus on digital product development or customer experience optimization.
• Strong proficiency in query languages and databases (e.g., SQL).
• Significant hands-on experience with at least one programming language for analysis (e.g., Python or R).
• Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.
• Deep understanding of statistical concepts and machine learning techniques.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to simplify complex concepts.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills:

• Previous experience in the aviation, travel, or e-commerce industry.
• Knowledge of product analytics platforms like Amplitude, Mixpanel, or Google Analytics 4.
• Experience working with big data technologies such as Hadoop or Spark.
• Business understanding of the product development lifecycle.
