  • Project Management: Oversee the project timeline, budget, and resource allocation for the electrical scope. Coordinate work with project managers and engineers from other disciplines (mechanical, civil) to ensure seamless integration.
  • Review & Approval: Review and approve electrical drawings, calculations, and equipment specifications submitted by engineering teams or contractors.
  • Quality Assurance & Compliance: Ensure all electrical works are executed in accordance with approved standard specifications (e.g., IEC, IEEE, BS), Omani Civil Defence regulations, and stringent safety requirements.
  • Procurement Support: Assist in preparing Bills of Quantities (BOQ) and technical specifications for electrical equipment, and technically evaluate vendor and contractor bids.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues arising during design, construction, or commissioning phases.
  • Mentorship & Leadership: Guide and train less experienced electrical engineers, fostering a culture of excellence and safety within the team.

Qualifications and Essential Requirements

  • Educational Qualification: A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university. A Master's degree or professional certifications (e.g., Chartered Engineer) are a strong advantage.
  • Work Experience: Minimum of 8 to 12 years of hands-on experience in electrical engineering, with a proven focus on project design and management. Experience must include direct work in a construction or industrial project environment.
  • Technical Knowledge: Proficiency in engineering design software (e.g., AutoCAD, ETAP, Dialux). Comprehensive understanding of medium and low voltage systems, protection and coordination systems, and control panels.
  • Soft Skills: Strong leadership and decision-making abilities. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) in both Arabic and English. Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Local Knowledge: Familiarity with applicable building and electrical codes and regulations in the Sultanate of Oman is a significant advantage.
