Job Description and Responsibilities

The Senior Electrical Design Engineer will be placed within the company's engineering department, responsible for leading and executing the electrical design aspects of projects. Key responsibilities include:

• Leading and developing complete electrical designs for new and existing projects, encompassing power systems, lighting, protection, and control systems.
• Preparing and reviewing detailed electrical drawings and schematics (Single Line Diagrams, Schematic Diagrams, Layouts) using specialized engineering software such as AutoCAD and ETAP or similar.
• Performing necessary engineering calculations, including electrical load calculations, cable sizing, short-circuit studies, and protection coordination.
• Preparing specifications for electrical equipment, soliciting technical and commercial bids from vendors, and participating in bid evaluation.
• Close coordination with other engineering disciplines (Mechanical, Civil, Architectural) to ensure design integration and harmony.
• Providing technical support during project execution phases on-site and resolving any design-related issues that arise.
• Ensuring all designs comply with relevant local and international standards and regulations (e.g., Saudi Electricity Company specifications, Saudi Building Code, IEC, IEEE).
• Preparing technical reports and project deliverable documents.

Qualifications and Requirements

To qualify for this role, you must meet the following criteria:

• Educational Qualification: A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university. A Master's degree will be an added advantage.
• Experience: Minimum 8 to 10 years of practical experience in electrical design, with a strong focus on major construction projects such as commercial buildings, residential complexes, hospitals, or infrastructure projects. Experience in the Saudi or Gulf market is a significant advantage.
• Technical Skills:
  • Advanced proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software and electrical system simulation tools.
  • In-depth knowledge of medium and low-voltage electrical systems.
  • Strong understanding of Building Management Systems (BMS) and control systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and mechanical drawings.
• Soft Skills:
  • Leadership skills and the ability to manage tasks and guide junior engineers and technicians.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Arabic and English.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict project deadlines.
  • Accuracy and strong attention to detail.
• Professional Certifications: Possession of a recognized professional certification (e.g., PMP, advanced engineering certificates) will be highly regarded.
