Job Overview

The Senior Manager - Accounts Operation holds a strategic position within the financial and administrative structure of Asyad Group. The role focuses on leading and directing all operational activities related to accounts management within the Group or one of its key operational sectors. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficiency, accuracy, and smooth flow of day-to-day operations for accounts payable, accounts receivable, expenses, and general ledger accounting, in alignment with established financial policies and international best practices.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Leadership & Development: Lead the accounts operations team, develop its performance, and ensure departmental goals are met according to defined timelines and quality standards.
  • Operations Management: Oversee the full cycle of operational accounting processes, from invoice and expense recording, through reconciliations and payments, to periodic closings and reporting.
  • Policies & Controls: Develop and enhance internal policies and procedures for accounts operations to ensure effective control and compliance with local and international regulations.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and streamlining to increase efficiency and reduce operational costs, leveraging modern technology where applicable.
  • Integration & Coordination: Work closely with other finance departments (such as treasury and budgeting) as well as various operational departments (like logistics and procurement) to ensure integration and consistency of financial data.
  • Reporting: Provide accurate and meaningful analytical reports to senior management on the performance of accounts operations and key performance indicators (KPIs).

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Academic Qualification: A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration. Professional certifications such as CMA, CPA, or ACCA are a significant competitive advantage.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in the financial and accounting field, with at least 5 years in a leadership role (Manager or Head of Department) supervising accounts operations in a large corporation, preferably within the transport, logistics, or operationally intensive industries.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems like SAP or Oracle, and Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead, motivate teams, and deliver results in a dynamic environment.
  • Analytical Skills: Exceptional ability to analyze complex data, identify patterns, and devise practical solutions.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and tax regulations in the Sultanate of Oman.
  • Languages: Proficiency in written and spoken English is essential. Knowledge of Arabic is an additional advantage.
