Senior NDT Inspector Job in Muscat

Job Overview
The Senior Nondestructive Testing (NDT) Inspector will play a critical role in ensuring safety, reliability, and compliance with standards across industrial and construction projects managed by the company. NDT is a vital method for evaluating the properties of materials, components, and structures without causing damage, thereby preventing failures, accidents, and ensuring project quality.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Lead and perform nondestructive testing operations using various techniques such as Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT), Radiographic Testing (RT), and Eddy Current Testing (ET) in accordance with international codes and standards (e.g., ASME, API, AWS, ISO).
- Prepare detailed technical inspection plans and reports, documenting any discrepancies and providing appropriate recommendations.
- Supervise and provide technical guidance to teams of technicians and less experienced inspectors.
- Ensure all inspection equipment is properly calibrated and maintained as per requirements.
- Work closely with project engineers, quality managers, and clients to explain and address technical findings.
- Strictly adhere to all Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) protocols on work sites, which may include industrial plants or construction locations.
- Contribute to the review and improvement of the company's Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) procedures.
Qualifications and Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Materials, or equivalent) or a Higher Technical Diploma with extensive proven experience.
- Minimum of 7 to 10 years of hands-on experience in the NDT field, with a substantial portion in a lead or supervisory capacity.
- Possession of valid, advanced-level (Level II or Level III) certifications in core NDT methods (minimum UT, MT, PT, RT) from recognized bodies such as the American Society for Nondestructive Testing (ASNT) or equivalent.
- In-depth knowledge of relevant international standards and specifications for the oil & gas, energy, or construction industries.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (Arabic is a strong advantage).
- Ability to work independently and in a team, managing time effectively under pressure.
- Candidates must be medically fit for work in industrial sites and may be required to undergo relevant medical screenings.
