A leading and well-established Confidential Company specializing in the distribution of medical products and supplies across the Gulf region has announced an opening for the position of Senior Receivable Accountant at its headquarters in Manama, Kingdom of Bahrain. Job Description and Key Responsibilities

The appointed Senior Receivable Accountant will be integrated into the Finance department and will hold primary responsibility for efficiently managing the accounts receivable cycle to ensure optimal cash flow for the company. Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing the Receivables Portfolio: Overseeing customer accounts comprehensively, following up on outstanding dues, and ensuring timely collection of payments as per agreed terms.
  • Reconciliation and Follow-up: Conducting regular customer account reconciliations, handling invoice-related inquiries, and resolving any payment discrepancies or disputes.
  • Financial Reporting: Preparing accurate and periodic reports on receivables status, aging reports, and providing management analyses to support decision-making.
  • Policy Compliance: Ensuring strict adherence to the company's internal credit and collection policies and procedures, as well as compliance with local regulations in Bahrain.
  • Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Working closely with sales and logistics teams to coordinate invoicing and address any issues that may impact collection.
  • Process Improvement: Contributing to the proposal and implementation of improvements to the accounts receivable processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications and Essential Requirements

To be a successful candidate for this position, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Professional Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in financial accounting, with a strong focus on Accounts Receivable management. Experience within the medical distribution, pharmaceutical, healthcare, or Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) distribution sector is highly preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially advanced Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables). Hands-on experience with an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system such as SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics is a significant advantage.
  • Personal Skills:
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Arabic and English.
    • Strong organizational, prioritization, and time-management abilities to meet deadlines.
    • Robust analytical skills and a keen attention to detail.
    • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
    • High degree of integrity and professionalism in handling sensitive financial data.
