Job Description and Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be integrated into the core design team, taking on substantial technical responsibility for advanced road design projects. Primary duties and responsibilities include:

• Leading and preparing detailed designs and engineering drawings for highway, arterial, and collector road projects, including associated interchanges, bridges, and tunnels.
• Conducting technical studies and analyses for road planning, ensuring adherence to safety, efficiency, and sustainability standards.
• Utilizing the latest specialized engineering software and technologies for road design (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D, InfraWorks, or equivalents) to produce accurate models and designs.
• Coordinating closely with other in-house teams, such as bridge, traffic, and surveying engineers, to ensure design integration.
• Reviewing and analyzing survey and geotechnical data for application in the design process.
• Preparing technical reports, specifications, and tender documents for projects.
• Ensuring full compliance with local Qatari standards (Ashghal), international specifications, and environmental regulations.
• Providing technical support and supervision to less experienced engineers and technicians within the team.
• Participating in client, contractor, and stakeholder meetings to present technical proposals and discuss design requirements.

Qualifications and Essential Requirements

To be considered for this senior role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university. A Master's degree in Highway or Transportation Engineering is a strong advantage.
• Work Experience: Minimum of 8 to 10 years of proven experience in road and infrastructure design, with demonstrated involvement in major projects. Experience on projects within Qatar or the GCC region is a highly competitive advantage.
• Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in CAD software for roads and infrastructure, specifically the Autodesk suite (Civil 3D). In-depth knowledge of road design standards (e.g., AASHTO) and local specifications.
• Soft Skills: Strong leadership abilities and excellent communication skills (verbal and written) in both Arabic and English. High analytical skills and problem-solving capabilities. Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
• Professional Certifications: Holding a recognized professional certification (e.g., PMP, or membership in a prestigious engineering institution) will be highly regarded.
