Job Overview

The incumbent will be an integral part of the innovation team, responsible for contributing to the management and development of the company's strategic innovation project portfolio. The role focuses on ensuring innovation initiatives are aligned with Ma'aden Aluminium's ambitious business goals, maximizing value addition, and building sustainable competitive advantages in the dynamic global aluminium market.

Key Expected Responsibilities and Duties

• Innovation Portfolio Management: Assist in developing and managing a balanced portfolio of innovation projects, from the ideation stage through to implementation and scaling.
• Evaluation and Analysis: Conduct preliminary feasibility analyses for new innovation projects, assess risks and opportunities, and measure expected return on investment (ROI).
• Coordination and Follow-up: Act as a liaison between R&D, Operations, Marketing, and Finance teams to ensure the smooth progress of projects within the portfolio.
• Reporting: Develop and present periodic reports on the performance of the innovation portfolio, highlighting key performance indicators (KPIs), achievements, challenges, and recommendations to senior management.
• Market & Technology Monitoring: Track the latest technological trends and innovations in the global aluminium industry and supporting sectors to identify new opportunities.
• Compliance and Standards: Ensure all portfolio projects comply with the company's approved quality, safety, and sustainability standards.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial, or equivalent) or Business Administration (with a focus on Innovation or Project Management). A Master’s degree in a related field will be a strong advantage.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 to 8 years of relevant professional experience in areas such as innovation management, portfolio/project management, or R&D, preferably within the heavy industry, manufacturing, or mining sector.
• Technical Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of innovation management principles and frameworks (e.g., Stage-Gate, Agile).
  • Advanced data analysis skills and the use of financial analysis tools for project evaluation.
  • Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
• Soft Skills:
  • Strong analytical and foresight capabilities.
  • High-level communication and presentation skills (verbal and written) in both Arabic and English.
  • Ability to work in a team and in a cross-functional environment.
