Job Description

The Site Accountant will be stationed at a specific construction or infrastructure project site and will be responsible for the financial and accounting aspects directly related to that site's activities. This role is crucial for ensuring financial accuracy and operational efficiency in a dynamic project environment.

Key expected responsibilities include:

• Site Day-to-Day Accounting: Accurately and timely recording all site-specific financial transactions, including expenses, purchases, and receivables.
• Invoice Management: Preparing and issuing invoices to clients or stakeholders, following up on receivables, and ensuring incoming invoices from vendors and subcontractors match purchase orders and contracts.
• Cost Control: Tracking actual project costs against the approved budget, preparing variance analysis reports, and assisting the Project Manager in budget control.
• Advances & Expenses: Managing advance requests and personal expense claims for site personnel, ensuring compliance with company policies.
• Inventory & Assets: Assisting in periodic inventory and asset counts at the site, maintaining accurate records.
• Financial Reporting: Preparing periodic (weekly/monthly) financial reports on the site's financial performance and submitting them to the central finance management.
• Compliance: Ensuring all site financial operations comply with internal company policies, local Saudi regulations, and tax systems (such as VAT).
• Coordination: Working closely with the Project Manager, engineering team, and the main finance office.

Requirements and Qualifications

To be a successful candidate for this role, you should meet the following criteria:

• Academic Qualification: A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional certifications (e.g., CMA, CPA) are a strong advantage.
• Experience: Minimum of 3 to 5 years of practical experience in accounting, with prior experience as a Site Accountant or Project Accountant in the contracting, construction, or infrastructure sector being highly preferred.
• Technical Knowledge: Strong proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, MS Dynamics) and Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
• Local Knowledge: A good understanding of the prevailing financial and tax regulations in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
• Soft Skills: High accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (verbal and written) in both Arabic and English. Ability to work independently and in a team within a project site environment.
• Flexibility: Willingness to work at project sites which may be located outside major cities.
