Specialist, Healthcare Professional Registration - Ministry of Public Health Qatar

Job Description and Key Responsibilities
The incumbent will be responsible for a range of vital tasks related to the regulation of health professions. The core responsibilities for this role include:
- Managing Registration & Licensing Processes: Overseeing applications for the registration of doctors, nurses, pharmacists, technicians, and all other categories of healthcare professionals seeking to practice in Qatar.
- Reviewing Credentials & Documentation: Verifying the authenticity of academic qualification certificates, previous practice licenses, recommendation letters, and any other required documents to ensure compliance with Qatari and international professional standards.
- Enforcing Regulations & Policies: Operating in accordance with local laws and the internal policies of the Ministry of Public Health and relevant regulatory bodies concerning healthcare practice.
- Supporting Applicants & Stakeholders: Providing guidance and responding to inquiries from registration applicants and healthcare institutions regarding requirements and procedures.
- Maintaining Database Integrity: Ensuring the accuracy and currency of registered healthcare practitioners' records within the Ministry's system.
- Contributing to Development: Participating in the review and development of registration procedures and policies to enhance efficiency and transparency.
Qualifications and Requirements
To be a suitable candidate for this critical role, you must meet the following criteria:
- Educational Background: A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Health Administration, Business Administration, Law, or Medical Sciences. A higher degree (Master's) in administrative or regulatory fields may be preferred.
- Work Experience: Proven professional experience of 3 to 5 years in a similar area, such as medical registration, professional licensing management, or regulatory compliance within the healthcare sector. Experience in a government or regulatory authority environment is a significant advantage.
- Technical Knowledge: A deep understanding of healthcare systems and regulations in Qatar or the GCC region. Knowledge of professional accreditation procedures for health professions.
- Personal Skills:
- Strong analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) in both Arabic and English.
- Ability to interpret and apply complex policies practically.
- Organizational and time-management skills to handle workload and deadlines.
- Integrity and confidentiality in handling sensitive information.
- Other Requirements: Proficiency in computer applications and Microsoft Office. Knowledge of Database Management Systems (DBMS) is preferred.
