Sr. Project Architect – High-rise buildings/Villas

Job Description and Responsibilities
The Senior Project Architect will be responsible for leading the design and technical aspects of complex, large-scale projects. The primary focus will be on two project categories:
- High-rise buildings: Including residential, commercial, and mixed-use skyscrapers, with an emphasis on innovative architectural design, efficient structural planning, and sustainable facades.
- Luxury Villa Compounds: Requiring a nuanced understanding of luxury residential design, privacy, lifestyle, and the elegant integration of indoor and outdoor spaces.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and developing the initial design concept for projects in collaboration with clients and stakeholders.
- Overseeing the preparation of detailed architectural drawings (design development and construction documents).
- Coordinating with internal teams (civil, MEP engineers) and external consultants to ensure design integration.
- Managing the project's design timeline and ensuring adherence to the defined budget.
- Reviewing and approving material samples and construction methodologies submitted by contractors.
- Conducting regular site visits to monitor construction quality and its compliance with approved designs and specifications.
- Ensuring all designs comply with all relevant municipal regulations, codes, and international standards applicable in the UAE.
Qualifications and Requirements
To be a successful candidate for this leadership role, you must meet the following criteria:
- Educational Qualification: A Bachelor’s degree in Architecture (B.Arch) or equivalent. A Master’s degree or advanced professional certifications (e.g., LEED, PMP) is a strong advantage.
- Work Experience: Minimum 8 to 12 years of experience in architecture, with a proven track record focused on managing and designing high-rise building and/or luxury villa projects. Experience must cover all project phases from conceptual design to final delivery.
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and 3D modeling software (such as Revit, 3Ds Max, Rhino). In-depth knowledge of building systems, luxury finishing materials, and sustainability principles.
- Soft Skills: Leadership with excellent team management and client/contractor communication abilities. Strong analytical and complex problem-solving skills. Attention to detail and accuracy under pressure. Ability to deliver effective presentations.
- Language: Proficiency in written and spoken English is essential. Knowledge of Arabic is a distinct advantage.
Work Environment and Location
The work environment will be dynamic and intellectually stimulating, within a leading real estate development or engineering consultancy firm in the United Arab Emirates. The primary workplace is expected to be a main office in a major city (Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah) with frequent visits to project sites across the Emirates.
