Job Description & Key Responsibilities

The appointed Structural Draughtsman will be responsible for a range of precise technical tasks that form the backbone of any structural project. The core duties include:

• Preparing detailed structural drawings and plans for new construction, renovation, and development projects.
• Translating design concepts and preliminary sketches from engineers into clear, accurate, and executable working drawings.
• Producing reinforcement (rebar) details, formwork layouts, and foundation drawings.
• Updating and revising existing drawings based on design team feedback or site requirements.
• Ensuring all produced drawings comply with relevant local and international standards, building codes, and safety regulations.
• Collaborating closely with structural engineers, civil engineers, and the project team to ensure integration and accuracy across all technical documentation.
• Managing and organizing the project's drawing sets and technical documents.
• Utilizing Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software with high proficiency, adhering to company standards and drafting best practices.

Required Qualifications & Skills

To be a successful candidate for this role, you should meet the following criteria:

• A diploma or technical qualification in Structural Draughting, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven practical experience of 3 to 5 years minimum as a Structural Draughtsman, preferably within a consultancy or contracting environment.
• Advanced proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software, with a strong preference for expertise in AutoCAD. Knowledge of software such as Revit or AutoCAD Structural Detailing is a significant advantage.
• A solid understanding of basic structural principles and construction materials (concrete, steel, etc.).
• Excellent knowledge of engineering drawing symbols and terminology, with the ability to read and interpret architectural and structural plans.
• Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy, as minor errors in drawings can be costly on-site.
• Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively within a team.
• The capability to manage time efficiently and meet project deadlines.
