Job Description and Responsibilities

The successful specialist will be integrated into a subsea projects team, responsible for ensuring compliance with the highest standards of quality and safety across all phases. Key responsibilities include:

• Developing and implementing tailored Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) plans for subsea projects.
• Conducting field inspections and periodic reviews of subsea systems and components, including pipelines, manifolds, structures, and specialized equipment.
• Reviewing and approving vendor and contractor quality documentation, such as welding procedures, test certificates, and traceability records.
• Ensuring compliance with relevant international industry standards (e.g., ISO, API, ASME) and project-specific specifications.
• Investigating and reporting non-conformances, and proposing and implementing corrective and preventive actions.
• Coordinating with project engineers, construction managers, and contractors to promote a quality culture.
• Preparing detailed technical reports on inspection and quality control activities.
• Participating in design reviews, and fabrication, installation, testing, and commissioning stages (FAT, SAT, SIT).
• Monitoring contractor performance regarding quality and providing recommendations for improvement.

Qualifications and Requirements

To be a successful candidate for this role, you must meet the following criteria:

• Educational Qualification: A Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Marine, or related field). A Diploma with extensive experience may be considered.
• Professional Certifications: Certified Quality Inspector credentials (such as CWI, CSWIP, NACE, or equivalent) are a significant advantage and often mandatory.
• Experience: Minimum of 7 to 10 years of hands-on experience in QA/QC, with a strong focus on subsea projects within the oil and gas sector.
• Technical Knowledge:
  • In-depth knowledge of subsea standards and specifications (API 17, DNV, ISO 13628).
  • Experience with Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) techniques and weld evaluation.
  • Strong understanding of the oil and gas project lifecycle, from design to commissioning.
• Personal Skills: Excellent communication and documentation skills, ability to work under pressure, attention to detail, and leadership abilities. The candidate must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Other Requirements: The candidate must be medically fit for work in offshore and remote site locations. Proficiency in written and spoken English is essential.
