Job Overview

The Systems Architect Lead will be responsible for leading a specialized team in designing, implementing, and maintaining the enterprise-wide database services infrastructure. The role focuses on ensuring high availability, superior performance, robust security, and scalability for the database systems that support the company's critical operations and strategic applications. Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Leadership & Strategic Planning: Lead and mentor the database services team. Develop and execute the long-term vision and strategy for the database architecture aligned with business objectives.
• Architectural Design: Design and develop architectural solutions for database systems (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or NoSQL databases) incorporating best practices for High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR).
• Performance Optimization & Security: Monitor and analyze database performance, implementing tuning and optimization for speed and efficiency. Establish and enforce stringent security policies to protect sensitive data and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Project Management & Integration: Lead database migration, upgrade, and consolidation projects. Collaborate closely with development and DevOps teams to ensure seamless application integration with the data layer.
• Troubleshooting & Support: Act as the ultimate escalation point for resolving complex database-related issues. Provide technical guidance and support to other teams.
• Budget & Vendor Management: Contribute to budget planning for database-related resources (licenses, hardware, cloud services). Evaluate and select appropriate technologies and tools.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Academic Qualification: A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field. A Master’s degree or relevant professional certifications (e.g., Oracle OCM, Microsoft MCSE: Data Management) is a significant advantage.
• Professional Experience: Minimum of 8 to 10 years of experience in database administration and engineering, with at least 3 years in a proven leadership or principal architect role.
• Advanced Technical Skills:
  • Deep mastery in managing and designing relational (RDBMS) and cloud-based database systems (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL).
  • Hands-on experience with High Availability and Disaster Recovery technologies (Clustering, Replication, Always On).
  • Strong proficiency in SQL, performance tuning, and analysis tools.
  • Solid understanding of operating systems (Linux/Windows) and networking.
  • Knowledge of cloud computing concepts and modern architectures (Microservices) is essential.
• Personal & Leadership Skills: Excellent leadership and team management abilities. Outstanding communication skills to interact effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
