Job Description and Key Responsibilities

The Merchandising Team Leader will occupy a central role in the company's operations. This individual will be responsible for leading and guiding the merchandising team to achieve operational and financial targets. The core responsibilities of this leadership position include:

• Leadership and Supervision: Directing and developing a team of merchandising professionals, delegating tasks, and ensuring the team delivers the highest standards of performance and efficiency.
• Planning and Strategy: Contributing to the formulation of merchandising and sales strategies aligned with the company's overall objectives. Analyzing market trends and consumer behavior to identify opportunities and optimize product offerings.
• Inventory and Procurement Management: Working closely with procurement and logistics departments to ensure the right products are available in the correct quantities and on time. Monitoring stock levels and minimizing wastage.
• Analysis and Reporting: Tracking Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the merchandising department, and preparing regular reports on sales, profitability, and product movement for senior management.
• Quality and Display Assurance: Overseeing product presentation at points of sale to ensure customer appeal and correct brand representation.
• Internal Collaboration: Acting as a liaison between the merchandising department and other units such as sales, marketing, operations, and warehousing to ensure integrated and smooth processes.

Qualifications and Essential Requirements

To be a successful candidate for this leadership role, you should meet the following criteria:

• Professional Experience: Proven experience of at least 5 years in merchandising, sales, or procurement within the retail or Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector. Preference will be given to candidates with prior experience in leadership or supervisory positions.
• Leadership Skills: Strong ability to motivate and lead a team towards goal achievement. Excellent communication and delegation skills.
• Analytical Skills: Exceptional capability to analyze data and numbers, with an understanding of financial reports and performance metrics.
• Business Acumen: Deep understanding of the retail market dynamics in the UAE and Gulf region, along with knowledge of supply chains and inventory management.
• Personal Attributes: A proactive problem-solver with a leadership personality, capable of working under pressure and making quick decisions.
• Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field. Specialized certifications in supply chain management or merchandising will be a distinct advantage.
• Language Proficiency: Excellent command of spoken and written English. Knowledge of the Arabic language is a strong additional advantage in the UAE job market.
