Technical Manager for Hotel Construction Project

A leading company in the construction sector announces its need to hire a professional Technical Manager to oversee a major and prestigious hotel construction project within the Kingdom.
Job Description and Responsibilities
The Technical Manager will be the primary person responsible for all technical and engineering aspects of the project from its early stages through to final handover. He/She will work within an integrated administrative and technical team to ensure the project is executed according to the highest standards of quality, safety, time, and cost efficiency.
Key responsibilities include:
- Direct supervision of the project's engineering designs and technical specifications, reviewing them and ensuring compliance with local and international requirements and standards.
- Coordinating with design consultants, contractors, and suppliers to ensure the precise execution of all structural, architectural, Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) works.
- Managing the technical bidding process, reviewing contractor proposals, and evaluating them from an engineering perspective.
- Daily monitoring of work progress on-site, ensuring adherence to drawings, specifications, the quality plan, and the agreed schedule.
- Identifying and resolving technical problems and challenges that may arise during various implementation phases, making appropriate decisions to ensure work continuity.
- Preparing periodic technical reports on project progress, highlighting any deviations from the plan and proposing corrective solutions.
- Ensuring full compliance with Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) regulations on the project site.
- Overseeing material and system tests, the final handover (snagging) phase, and ensuring project readiness for operation.
Qualifications and Requirements
To be a successful candidate for this leadership role, you must meet the following criteria:
- Educational Qualification: A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related engineering field from an accredited university. A Master's degree or advanced professional certifications (such as PMP, Chartered Engineer) are a strong advantage.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of practical experience in construction project management, with a proven and distinguished track record of at least 5 years managing hotel or resort projects of global standard (5-star or above). Experience in the Saudi or Gulf market is a significant advantage.
- Technical Skills: Deep knowledge of all construction project phases, international building specifications (e.g., ASTM, BS), and Saudi building systems (Saudi Building Code SBC). Advanced proficiency in design and review software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) and project management software (e.g., Primavera P6 or MS Project).
- Personal & Leadership Skills: Excellent leadership and motivation skills for engineering and technical teams. Superior communication and interpersonal skills with all stakeholders. Ability to solve complex problems under pressure and make sound decisions. Accuracy, attention to detail, and commitment to quality and safety standards.
- Language: Full professional proficiency in English, both written and spoken. Knowledge of Arabic will be an additional advantage.
