Job Description & Key Responsibilities

The appointed Waiter will be integrated into the In-Room Dining (IRD) or hotel restaurant team, responsible for delivering exceptional food and beverage experiences to guests. The core responsibilities for this role include:

  • Welcoming guests upon their arrival at the dining area and escorting them to their tables in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Presenting menus to guests and having thorough knowledge of all offerings, including main courses, appetizers, and hot/cold beverages, and answering any queries regarding ingredients or preparation.
  • Accurately taking food and drink orders and relaying them correctly and promptly to the kitchen or bar.
  • Serving food and beverages to guests in accordance with the high service standards upheld by Marriott International.
  • Attending to guests' needs throughout their meal, ensuring complete satisfaction with both service and products.
  • Preparing bills and settling payments with guests using the hotel's established Point-of-Sale (POS) systems.
  • Maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the assigned station (tables, chairs, equipment) throughout the shift.
  • Working as part of a cohesive team, collaborating with colleagues in the restaurant, kitchen, and operations to ensure smooth workflow.
  • Adhering to all health, safety standards, and policies set by the hotel management.

Job Requirements & Qualifications

To qualify for this opportunity, candidates should meet the following criteria:

  • Experience: Previous experience in customer service or the restaurant industry is preferred, even if limited. This role is also suitable for recent graduates eager to enter the hospitality field.
  • Personal Skills:
    • Excellent verbal communication skills in both Arabic and English.
    • A friendly, polite, and personable demeanor with the ability to interact with guests from diverse nationalities and cultural backgrounds.
    • Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in task execution.
    • Good personal presentation and physical fitness suitable for prolonged standing and movement.
  • Qualifications: A specific university degree is not mandatory; however, a diploma or training in hospitality or tourism is advantageous.
  • Availability: Flexibility to work various shifts (morning, evening, weekends) as required by the hotel's operational needs.
